MIS@ASIA Regional Meeting 2025

COMPASS had the honour to host the MIS@ASIA Regional Meeting this past week for our sister societies; Music Copyright (Thailand) Ltd (MCT), The Indian Performing Right Society (IPRS) and Vietnam Centre for Protection of Music Copyright (VCPMC).
The discussion on data management and digital information flow also provided an invaluable platform for the exchange on regional developments, fostering stronger collaboration within these societies.
We are entering a future where data will grow exponentially—both in volume and in complexity. Music consumption is evolving rapidly, and so are user expectations. The system must be able to process billions of lines of usage data swiftly and accurately. That calls not only for robust technology, but also for strong governance, interoperability, and agility.
We must also think beyond the technical. As a regional system, MIS@Asia needs to be sustainable, adaptable, and inclusive. That means future-proofing our infrastructure, anticipating change, and ensuring our system is accessible to emerging societies and younger CMOs in the region. Broadening access isn’t just a moral imperative—it’s an investment in the cultural and creative diversity of Asia.
The societies agreed to work together to build a regional system that not only meets today’s needs, but anticipates tomorrow’s possibilities—and serves every songwriter, composer, and rightsholder in the region with fairness, transparency, and efficiency.
