Dr. Liang Wern Fook obtained his PhD (Chinese Literature) from the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), and a Master Degree for Arts (Chinese Literature) from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He has also been awarded the top Gold Medal from the NUS Arts and Social Science faculty as well as from the NUS Chinese Studies Department.
Dr. Liang has been conducting lectures and tutorials at NUS,NTU and the National Institute of Education (NIE). He has taught and mentored students in Chinese Language, Chinese Literature and Chinese creative-writing in NUS Chinese Research Centre, Chinese Studies Department, NTU Chinese Culture and Language Centre and NIE Chinese Studies Department. Most students who were under Dr. Liang are presently working in colleges, primary and secondary schools as Chinese teachers, in the Chinese media as Chinese journalists, as well as in TV and Radio Stations as Chinese broadcasters.
For many years, Dr. Liang has been receiving invitations to teach and lecture in universities, high schools, secondary schools etc. in both Singapore and Malaysia alike.
Dr. Liang published works range from proses, poems, allegories and novels.
Many years of effort in creative-writing have brought to Dr. Liang numerous awards. Among the literature awards are the Young Artist Award (NAC) in 1992, and The Singapore Book Prize in 1996.
His achievements in the musical field include 5 song albums, Singapore very first Chinese musical “December Rains” in 1996, and “If There're Seasons” in 2007. Apart from these, Dr.. Liang抯 song compositions are sung by top singers in the contemporary Chinese music world. Other achievements include: Sing Music Highest Honour Award (1997), Xin Yao Festival Best Lyrics and Music Award (1989), Singapore Hits Highest Honour Award (1994) , Singapore Hits Best Local Lyrics Award (1995)(2001) and COMPASS Meritorous Award(1999), Best Original TV Series Theme Song, Asia TV Award (2002), Top Local Chinese Song, COMPASS Awards (2003 & 2005),
