Chang Kwai Ming, an MBA graduate from the University of South Australia, has been a Chairman of COMPASS since 1993.
He has played an active role in the arts circle for more than 30 years, having held various important positions in many arts and music related organizations. He was the deputy chairman for the National Theatre Trust (1973-1982), Board Member for the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (Statutory Board) (1982-1985), Director / General Manager for Yamaha Music (Asia) Pte Ltd and Yamaha Music (Malaysia) Pte Ltd (1972-1984), and was also the Acting Principal for Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.
He has also worked as an Arts and Culture columnist for various established newspapers, including the two largest local Chinese Newspaper, Lianhe Zaobao and Shin Min Daily News. He has also written for overseas papers, namely the Central China Daily (Bangkok, Thailand), Chang-Jiang Daily (Wuhan, China) and Chang-Chun Daily (Northeast China).
He has several publications under his belt, amongst which, is the 1982 top seller of local books, Where Talents Are Shining. Other publications include As Real As A Pearl (a collection of short articles commenting on politics, social-economic & different aspects of live in Singapore, Melody of Life (a Cine Literature Script), The Irony of Actor (a book on Acting Theory) and Kangaroo (a stage drama script).
He is currently the Director / President of Tianli Holdings Pte Ltd (Singapore / China), Director / Vice Chairman of Zheng Hua Holdings Pte Ltd (Singapore / China). He is also the Chairman for The Institute of World Chinese Literature (Singapore Chapter), Council Member of the Singapore Literature Society, and a Management Consultant to Singapore ISS International School and Centre for American Education.
